The Huron Heights Warriors have at last ascended to the ranks of Metro Bowl champions. Damn, they’re even getting the champions’ parade treatment. It’s a good week to be a Huron Heights Warrior, to be sure, although it’s not certain if the Town of Newmarket will permit a revisit to the time-honoured tradition of a ride on fire trucks through the streets.

The Don Bosco Eagles couldn’t hold on to the ball. The Huron Heights Warriors made them pay for their butter-fingered ways. Big time.
The Newmarket school made the most of sloppy Eagles’ ball handling, including five first-half turnovers, to cart off its first Metro Bowl title with a 28-14 victory in the 31st Metro Bowl Tuesday night at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
